Party Animal

I just had my 3rd birthday. Time really does fly by fast. Do I look older here?

Kimberly prepared this for my birthday. She got tiny balloons and stuck them to the wall, which I think is pretty funny. I want to thank her for her effort in making me feel special on my birthday.

The cupcake was pretty. The icing is so colorful, it really look yummy. Too bad I didn't got to taste it, not even a single bite! I'm not allowed to eat sweets. (The truth is, I didn't even know the cupcake was actually food.)

Kim really like the idea of a mini-celebration for my birthday, that she even made this...

The scrapbook collage is really cute! Darlene thinks it's funny, especially the picture of Kim and I trying to blow the candle on the cupcake. Dogs can't blow! What is Kim thinking?? Anyway, she blew the candle herself.

Neck Scratch

Aside from tummy rubs, I also love neck scratch. Actually, I like neck scratches more than tummy rubs. Neck scratch makes me feel so relax, so comfortable. I'd fall sleepy whenever someone is giving me a neck scratch.

In this picture, Jennifer was nice enough to give me a neck scratch. I can tell that people here are getting pretty annoyed scratching my neck. Maybe because I ask it too often. And I also ask for it at the wrong time. I like getting it all of the time, but since I cannot make that happen (no matter how cute I am), I choose the best time to get it is before and after a good night sleep.

When it's bedtime, I'd jump up on a bed of someone I suspect is still awake enough to give me a neck scratch. It usually is Kim or Jen. I'd sit beside them and tap their hand with my paw or my mouth. They get the sign that I want a good neck scratch and start giving it to me. The problem is, I sometimes want a good neck scratch in the middle of the night. And having a dog sitting beside you on your bed in the middle of the night while you are sound asleep scares the hell out of them.

Another best time for a neck scratch is when I wake up in the morning. This also comes as a problem to both me and Kim or Jen because I'm an early riser. So, normally, they are too sleepy to bother me in that time of the day.

If you want to make your dogs happy, I suggest giving them a good neck scratch aside from a tummy rub.

Ride With Me

I found another picture of me in my picture archives. If you have Kimberly around, you'll sure have a lot of pictures.

Here's a "cool" picture of me riding a motor bike. I'm not actually riding it.. I'm just sat on it. It's not even our motorcycle. It belongs to our neighbor. He park it there, and since he's not around... I decided to mess around with it. Well, it's not exactly my idea, it's Kimberly's plan to sit me here. So if the owner finds out, it's Kimberly's fault.

Somewhere Out There

I don't know if by "house pet", they mean I'm only allowed to stay inside the house. But that's practically how they treat me here. I'm only allowed to walk inside the house, where the floor is clean and where my paws will stay clean.

Here I am peeking outside. I want to go out but they won't allow me for dozens of reasons. Aside from getting dirty, I also pick fights with stray cats I see outside. I'd try to chase them down. I never got near one though since I am on a leash.

They also say I might get caught with those nasty unwanted flea and ticks other dogs and cats leave behind. I don't want those pesky parasites because they itch a lot! So, I guess it's better for me to just stay indoors.

I do go out, but they always carry me. I'm used to being carried by now. The neighbors are also used to seeing me like that. At first they were making fun of me, but now they understand why I do not walk outside. I bet they think we're weird.

By the way, after this picture was shot, it's bath time for me. I'm not suppose to lie down on the concrete floor outside.

Boo! I See You!

Hide-and-seek is my favorite game. This picture was taken when I was around 1 year old. that's a shot of me finding someone out of their hiding place.

They'd hide around the house and call out my name for me to look for them.

Back when I was younger, I wasn't too good in playing this game. I'm not used to using my sense of smell so it doesn't help me finding the person hiding. But now, I'm the master of this game! I can find anyone within a couple of minutes. I have a strong sense of smell that can track down anybody.

I hate it when they decided to cheat. I cannot open doors and go out by myself. So, I consider hiding outside as cheating because they are hiding somewhere impossible for me to catch them.

In this game, I'm always the "it". I never tried hiding for them to find me. I'm bad in hiding. I always tend to forget to hide myself properly when I try to hide. When my head is hidden, I always think my entire body is covered as well. It's also hard to hide when you hide a tail. There are times when I am unaware that my tail is hanging out of my hiding place.

The Prince and the PomPom

I was browsing through my old pictures when I find this...

I remember this picture! It was when I met a puppy for the first time. You see, there's not a lot of friendly dogs in my neighborhood. Most of them are, like me, kept indoors or what I call a "house pet". The dogs that I do see walking around outside most of the time are stray dogs. You do not want to get near a stray dog, they are savage!

So, how did this tiny puppy end up in my house? It all started when Kimberly fell for it's cuteness. The owner was showing off his new puppy to us and Kim made a wrong move and decided to hold it. Since Kim was holding it, she can smell how stinky this tiny stink-bomb is! I was surprise to find out that not all dogs smell as good as me. So that explains why I'm known as the "dog who smells good" around my neighborhood.

The owner then started forcing Kim to give his puppy a bath. He was really fooling her into giving his smelly dog a bath. I remembered he was starting to get annoying at one point. Kimberly then decided to give the puppy a bath.

At first I thought this puppy was a toy. If you saw the size of the puppy, he really does look like a stuff toy. I thought Kim bought me a new toy to play with. I was trying to reach it from her but she won't give me the pup. I then realize it was actually a living thing when it started to move.

I was a bit mad at Kim for using my shampoo on a stranger. But I thought that this dog really needs it judging on how stinky he smelled.

After giving the dog a shower, Kim started drying off the dog. That's when the stink came out even more! Our house began to smell like a stinky damp dog. Mommy was surprised how stinky our house was and started to spray Febreze everywhere.

After the bath, Kim decided to let it walk around our house for a while. I saw he was also scared because he was shivering. Or maybe he was traumatized by the bath, I'm not sure.

If you look at the picture closely, you'd see that I have a curious expression on my face. Like I said, it's my first time to get near another dog. To tell you the truth, even after a bath, the puppy still stinks!

Later I heard that the puppy is a princess shih tzu breed. But he's a male, so does it make him a "prince"? I was starting to wonder if he wanted me to call him "majesty".

What's My Name

Do you ever wonder how my name was chosen? No, it's not because I look like a Coco Puff cereal. They didn't get my name from a cereal, from hot cocoa drinks, or from a coconut tree, they got it from Coco Chanel.

On the way to pick me up, Jennifer and Kimberly were in the car trying to come up with different names that they think would suit a dog they have never met yet. It's kind of hard giving a name to someone you haven't actually seen yet. Kim kept coming up with crazy names like "Taco", "Cotton Candy" and "Caramel". Looking back, I'm quite thankful no one agreed with the names she thought. Everyone said the names Kim think of are just stupid and isn't suitable for a dog.
They got to the house where they were picking me up and still haven't thought of a good name yet. Wait a minute... Actually, they all thought they were going to get a male dog and not a female. The owner said her dog gave birth to all male puppies. So, were they thinking of boys' names all along?

Then, I heard the owner said "Okay, choose one puppy!". You see, me and my brothers were all roaming around the living room. My birth father was also there, trying to catch someone's attention in giving him a tummy rub. Now I know where I got that from...

So, when it's time for Kim to choose one puppy, all of my brothers hid. They all run behind the couch, away from Kim. I'm not sure if I'm suppose to get angry with them because they didn't shared their plan with me. When Kim picked me up, the owner finally told her that what they got is the only female among the litter.

Turns out, getting chosen isn't such a bad thing. I'm quite glad I got into this family who loves me so much. Now... back to the main story... my name.

Now, Kim got me to lie down on her lap in the car ride to my new home. I was sound asleep but I can still hear her insisting the name "Caramel" because of my color. Luckily, Jen came up with the most wonderful name, "Coco!". Darlene and Mommy quickly agreed with the name Jen came up with. I don't know if they did that because it was the best name for me or they just want Kim to stop coming up with those stupid names.

The first time a got to learn my name is when I was 3 months old. I was hanging out in the kitchen when someone shouted "Coco!". I suddenly knew they were calling me and quickly ran to where they were. Everybody was so happy at this moment.

From then on, I knew my name is "Coco". It's shirt, nice and easy to remember. So, when you see me, just say "Coco!" and you'll catch my attention.
