Chip's Ahoy

On a recent vet appointment, they decided to implant me with a "microchip".

No worries, the injection didn't hurt that much. The microchip is said to be as tiny as a small grain of rice. It's injected into my skin. The microchip will provide the data of my vaccinations and also serve as a tracking device.

For a dog who usually spends my days indoors, it really confuses me as to why I needed a tracking device in the first place...

One question still bothers me though... Will I still be able to play hide and seek?

The Results Are In

My doctor called Kim yesterday to tell her about my test result. She finally came to a conclusion as to what is causing me to pee a bit of blood out. Good news is, it's not my protein count that's been causing it. The results show that I have been bitten by a parasite. There are some nasty parasites that causes blood in urine in some dogs when they got bitten.

We were all really surprised when we learn about what causing me to be sick. Believe me when I say this, but, I really don't have any flea or tick problem. I am a very clean dog. Mommy checks me for parasite every once and a while and I usually do not have those. I am a stay-at-home dog. I do go out, but when I do, they always carry me so I won't get dirty. So, I'm really confused and has been asking myself how did a parasite bite me.

Right now I have to take the medicine my doctor prescribed me. It's hard to swallow since it's in tablets. Kim has to shove it down my throat so that I'll swallow it. I'd spit it out again if she didn't do that.

I hope I will get better soon... I hate it because I know there'll be a lot of trips back to the vet since I am sick. *sigh....

Sick Again

I just came home from the vet clinic. I have a vague memory as to what happened to me over there due to extreme fear.

I remember the doctor checked my urine... I remember the painful blood test... I remember a scary looking sick dog, which is irrelevant but I can't block him out of my memory... He's really sick and seem to be going bald. Poor fellow...

The doctor wasn't sure what's causing my pee to have blood in it. Yes, I am a female dog and it's kind of normal for me to sometimes have blood in my urine, but it isn't that time of the year yet!

The doctor said that my protein count was high again. For someone who hasn't even tasted beef yet, I'm pretty much puzzled myself. The doctor said the worst thing.... She said NOT to give me treats as of the moment to see if it's the treats that may be causing my protein count to sky rocket. As sad as this is, I have to obediently follow it.

The doctor also took some blood samples to run some tests. I don't know what the results are yet but I hope it's nothing serious.

When I got home, I was a bit tired. I was a bit sleepy in the car ride home but I didn't sleep in the car.

I'm about to take a nap when I remembered they might have forgotten to take off the cotton ball taped to one of my legs. It's the same leg where they took blood from me. It doesn't hurt anymore so I wish somebody would remove it. But then... Removing it would be a bit painful with all of my fur getting stuck and pulled off from the tape.

Veterinary Tales

Kim and Darlene brought me to the vet clinic for another check-up. I was so excited to go out that I didn't know we were actually going to that dreadful place. I only knew we were headed towards the vet when we past the familiar roads. I was on a frenzy when we were a block away from the clinic. I can sense the smell of pain...

Just because I tremble whenever we go to the vet doesn't mean I'm cold. But Kim decided to have me wear a hoodie. She makes me wear clothes because she thinks my doctor likes to see me wearing clothes and thinks I'm cute. Good thing that day was cool so I didn't over-heated in my hoodie.

Here, I'm being weighed by the clinic staff. Look at the look I have, I think it's pretty obvious that I am terrified to death. I hate it when the cold stainless steel table touches my paws. It makes me tremble even more. Sometimes, I even feel as if I'm about to faint.

Luckily there's no vaccine that day! Woohoo! And I'm really happy that my test results came back good. My protein count is back to normal. But I can't eat a whole flank of steak just yet, I have to watch and maintain my protein levels so it won't get high again. My doctor gave me a new dog food to eat.

While at the vet, Kim took some photos of some less fortunate dogs. They're sick and I bet they've been through hell! Here' a poor guy...

I don't even know what breed he is or what's wrong with him. I don't even know if he's actually a he or she? All I heard was "Bark! Bark! Bark! Bark!" Now I understand why his owner put him in a cage...

No matter how bad my experience at the vet is, it's nothing compared to these two Pomeranians here. (Behind the first pom is another pom)

You see, these pomeranians practically live there in the clinic because they belong to the vet clinic's owner. Every time I visit the vet, I see these two locked up in their cages in the same exact spot as always. I never see them roaming around walking on the floor. It's always inside their cages for these two. I wouldn't want to trade places with them.

What's Wrong With Me?

I'm sad because I'm sick again. Actually, I don't feel sick at all, but my body tells me otherwise. Lately, I've noticed that I have the urge to pee a lot. I've been peeing more than I used to. I thought it wasn't serious since it might just be connected with drinking more water but it wasn't. I'm not a vampire so I do not drink blood. But why does blood come out of my pee?

That's the big question Kimberly and Mommy asked the vet yesterday. I was very terrified to be in the vet's clinic. The doctor tried checking me up, pressing my stomach a lot to see if it hurts me. It doesn't. So the tests began...

At first there's the X-ray. I have to lie down flat on the machine. I saw the pictures of my insides very clearly. I even saw my tiny heart. The x-ray didn't hurt, well, I'm not complaining about the people who pinned me down to the table. The next test hurt a lot, it's the blood test! I hate needles. The only time I like needles is when Jennifer is sewing up my stuffed toys. I was so scared to see a needle so Mommy tried to calm me down. The doctor took a lot of my blood for samples to run the test. Then she told us she also needs a urine sample. Well, I think we should have started with that since that's my main problem after all! I forced myself to pee in the clinic so I won't have to go back.

Now... is the most terrible part of all... Waiting for my tests results. I still don't know what I have and it's worrying me sick. Literally! I got a fever today.

A Trip to the Vet

The place I hate the most is the VET. I know that when I go there, they're going to do something wierd to me. They either force me to eat this tablet, or stick some needles at the back of my neck. And the worst is them sticking up something thin up my... OMG, you don't want to know where. So, that's why the moment when either Jennifer or Kimberly leave me on top of the cold stainless table, my body feels funny and my legs suddenly become jello-like. I cannot stand up straight or sit, all I can do is lean on Jen or Kim and hoping they will not leave me there.

With all the drama I experience in the Vet, I got it easy compared to the other dogs I see. Here's a patient there that really got it bad...

Can you see the one I'm talking about? The dog is being carried by the guy holding the water bottle thingy. Is he dehydrated? The needle sticking in his paw looks like it hurts a lot, because the dog does not move his paw even for an inch.

Lucky for him, he's going home. So, these dogs probably got it worst...

Can you see my head in the pic? I took a peek at those poor (noisy) Poms. Actually, come to think about it, I see those 2 Poms on top EVERYTIME I go to the Vet.
So, being nosy, I found out those 2 Poms are the pet of the owner of the Vet. Wow! Thier lives must suck! They got the doctor as their master. Maybe that explains their non-stop loud barking, that's the room where they live.
The tiny Pom beneath them is a sick patient. Poor tiny Pompom.
